HURRICANE RIDGE ELOPEMENT | KATIE & JUSTIN
Sometimes, doing things a little outside of the norm just feels better. Katie & Justin are both in the military and while in the midst of planning their November wedding in Florida, they found out that they were facing big moves that would take them in opposite directions across the globe. They had fallen in love with Washington and all the majestic earthy beauty that is so prevalent here. So, they decided that they were meant to say their vows to each other in private atop a mountain before life took over and took them away from each other for a while. And thus, this magical Hurricane Ridge elopement happened and I was fortunate enough to be in attendance. It was simply perfect. A bit chilly, but perfect. 🙂
On this particular day in July, the weather was cloudy and a bit windy, so not a lot of other visitors were present on Hurricane Ridge when we arrived. By the time we left, there were ZERO other humans around. This worked out to our advantage because we were basically alone on top of a mountain range, which I would prefer really any day. Katie & Justin exchanged their vows overlooking the majestic hills in a picturesque scene that resembled that epic first sequence in the Sound of Music.
After their vows, the 3 of us wandered around taking photos and enjoying the occasion and scenery. We stumbled upon some baby deer taking a nap in the grass, something I can’t say I’ve experienced before. They were soooooo cute and small, it was ridiculous. We saw other wildlife as we wandered the hills, literally being swallowed in clouds as they pushed up the ridge and passed over us. So many memories were made on this beautiful day and I felt so incredibly blessed to be there with Katie and Justin on this joyous and momentous occasion. It was an honor to capture these moments and I wish these two lovely humans all the best for their wedding in November and in all their future adventures and journeys.
Cheers to K&J. Please enjoy the photos. 🙂
