FALL ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS | SARAH, ROBBY & BENTLEY
“At no other time (than autumn) does the earth let itself be inhaled in one smell, the ripe earth; in a smell that is in no way inferior to the smell of the sea, bitter where it borders on taste, and more honeysweet where you feel it touching the first sounds. Containing depth within itself, darkness, something of the grave almost.” ~ Rainer Maria Rilke
Fall is an ideal time for engagement photos for many reasons. First, the weather is cooler, which calls for sweaters, boots and more snuggles to keep each other warm. Second, the COLORS!! All the leaves changing into shades of yellow to orange to red are just incredible. Dramatic backgrounds can really make photos more memorable, and fall, everyone’s favorite season, just provides so much drama and gorgeous character to a session.
In addition to picking a great time of year and some comfortable digs for their session, I always try to encourage my clients to make their session as reflective of who they are as possible. I love when they choose to bring along their dog, or choose clothing or jewelry that mixes it up or means something to them. Even a favorite blanket to snuggle on for a few shots is super fun and just adds more variety to the end-result.
Port Angeles in the fall is a sight to be seen for sure, and a spectacular setting for such a photo session. The ever changing weather on the Olympic Peninsula ensures that you are always prepared with extra layers, especially a good rain jacket. Snow just starts to dust the tops of the mountain peaks, and everything just gets colder. Wind blows fog and clouds through the valleys and up and over the mountain range, something you can watch happen from pretty much anywhere in town. One minute the mountains are out in all their glory and the next they have disappeared behind the clouds. It’s a glorious place!
Enjoy these fun fall photos with a fun and fall-loving couple and their furkid. 😀
