Discovery Park Engagement Session | Kylie & Anthony
Engagement sessions are my favorite sessions to do, by far. I love when couples can embraceĀ things they love to do together and incorporate them into their photos. Kylie and Anthony had lots of ideas for their session and we ended up with tons of variety, from coffee in mugs they made for each other to swing dancing at Seattle Center to hiking to the beach at Discovery Park, we did it all. They are so in love and so into having fun together, so my job was super easy.
Seattle Center has so many amazing colorful backdrops for photos, and then contrast that with the natural beauty of Discovery Park. This session had a lot of variety and I think it really shows off the best thing about Seattle, and Washington in general. There’s literally everything you could imagine. You want to hang out at an awesome coffee shop that has a nutella latte? We got it. Swing dance in front of the iconic EMP museum and the Space Needle? Yup, let’s go. What about a park that has lush forests and meadows as well as a typical PNW beach? Got that too. We did all of these things for Kylie and Anthony’s session.
The other reason I love engagement sessions is that they are an opportunity to get to know my couples better before the wedding. Everyone should be as relaxed as possible on their wedding day and sometimes having a camera in your face can feel stressful. So, I want to minimize that as much as possible and make sure that the bride and groom are comfortable with me before that. I already knew Kylie and Anthony were an awesome couple after I first met with them earlier this year, but walking around Seattle with them for a few hours really gave us the opportunity to exchange stories and get to know each other. After witnessing how much they love each other during our time together, I am just so excited for their wedding in June in Snohomish. It’s going to be an amazing day of love and celebration. The best kind of days.
Check these lovebirds out and stay tuned for photos from their wedding celebration in June!
